12 libraries to be set up at Manda UZ in Naogaon

NAOGAON, Apr 29: Aiming to encourage students in reading books, around 12 libraries will be set up at different places of Manda upazila in the district.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Khandakar Mushfiqur Rahim revealed the matter at the inaugural ceremony of Mashidpur Education Development Library in Mashidpur area under the upazila on Monday.

In his speech, Mr Rahim said the libraries can contribute to a society in respect of education, enlightenment, morality, conscience, success and prosperity.

Sources said the book lovers of around 15 villages including Hossainpur, Chuapur, Aiorpara, Kabulpur, Chowbaria, Chakdah, Durgapur and Jonaki under the upazila will be benefitted from the newly launched library.

The library was provided 80 books and cash money of around Tk. 20,000 at its opening day, the sources added.

Sampa Aktar, a student of adjacent Mashidpur High School, informed she is very much interested in reading books on poetry, story and fiction.
