2,147 Naogaon farmers receive incentives for Rabi crops

NAOGAON, Nov 10: Aiming to encourage the farmers in cultivation of different crops in ongoing Rabi season, the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) distributed seeds and fertilisers among 2,147 small and grassroots farmers in Niyamatpur upazila of the district.

DAE sources said each of the farmers got five kg seeds (paddy, wheat, maize, mustard, sesame and mung bean), 20 kg Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and 10 kg Muriate of Potash (MOP) fertiliser.

Local Member of Parliament Shadhan Chandra Majumdar addressed the distribution programme as the chief guest with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abu Saleh Md. Mahfuzul Alam in the chair.

The distribution ceremony was held at the upazila council building on Friday.

Upazila Chairman Enamul Haque, family planning officer Selim Uddin, plants preservation officer Safiul Haque, among others, were present on the occasion.
