902 trainees under SEIP get jobs

JHENIDAH, Aug 25: Under the Skill for Employment and Investment Programme (SEIP), Technical Teaching Centre (TTC), Jhenidah, has made a total of 1,204 youths skilled among whom 902 trainees have got jobs, official sources said.

The institute admitted a total of 1,407 learners. From among them, 1204 trainees were given certificates. The trainees got training allowance and opportunities of job at different industries and factories at home and abroad.

In three financial years 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18, a total of Tk 1,31,67,500 was distributed among the trainees.

Under the project a total of 270 trainees take training in four-month long different trades such as electrical/electrician, mason, plumbing and pipe fitting and sewing machine operator (garments).

In the fiscal 2015-16, a total of 244 trainees got certificates out of admitted 261 learners. And a total of Tk 28,06000 was distributed among the trainees.

In the fiscal 2016-17, a total of 444 trainees got certificates out of admitted 480 learners. And a total of Tk 51,06000 was distributed among the trainees.

In the fiscal 2017-18, a total of 457 trainees got certificates out of admitted 484 learners. And a total of Tk 52,55500 was distributed among the trainees.

TTC, Jhenidah got the first prize in two categories - young inventor and best stall - in digital innovation fair of 2018.

Md Rustom Ali, Principal (in-charge), TTC, Jhenidah told the FE that many trainees of the institute were employed at various industries and factories both at home and abroad.
