Bogura, Gopalganj road accidents kill three

BOGURA, June 27 (BSS): Two people were killed in a road accident at Betbari Sujabad Dahpara under Shajahanpur upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Sultan Ahamed, 42, son of Abdul Kader of Babupukur area under Gabtoli upazila and Kamaruddin, 40, son of Omaruddin, a resident of Madla-Darinanda village under Shajahanpur upazila of the district.

Sun Inspector of Shajahanpur police station Jahangir Kabir said the accident occurred when a brick-laden truck hit a CNG-run auto rickshaw from behind in the area at about 10 am, leaving auto rickshaw passenger Kamaruddin dead on the spot and its driver injured.

Injured Sultan was sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

In Gopalganj, a former union council member was killed and three other people were injured on Wednesday as a bus collided with a human hauler on Gopalganj-Kotalipara road in Sadar upazila.

The deceased was identified as Sona Molla, 58, a former member of Ward no 8 of Kati union.

The Kotalipara-bound bus collided with the human hauler around 11:30 am, killing Sona Molla on the spot and injuring three others, said officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Md Monirul Islam.
