Comilla, Meherpur road accidents kill two boys

COMILLA, Dec 31 (UNB): A minor boy was killed in a road accident at Nurpur in the city on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Foysal, son of Tipu Miah, a resident of Nurpur area.

Police said a speedy truck, fully loaded with sand, knocked down Foysal when he was walking along the road around 9.00 am, leaving him dead on the spot.

The body was sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital for autopsy, said Salauddin Ahmed, in-charge of Chakbazar Police Camp, adding that pedestrians caught the driver of the truck and handed him over to police.

Meanwhile BSS adds: In Meherpur, a school boy was killed as brick-laden trolley hit his bicycle in Barakpur area in Sadar upazila on Sunday.

The victim was identified as Waresh Ali, 10, a resident at Rajapur village the Upazila. His father is Mijanur Rahman.

Local people said the accident occurred in the area at around 11 am when Waresh was returning home from Horirampur village riding the bicycle. Waresh died on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge of Meherpur Sadar Police Station Rabiul Islam said police seized the homemade trolley.
