Dengue situation improves in Sylhet

SYLHET, Aug 31: The overall dengue situation in the Sylhet region has improved. During the last 24 hours till Saturday morning, six dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals, officials informed.

Among the patients admitted on Saturday, five were admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital (SOMCH) while the other was admitted into Moulvibazar district hospital. No new dengue patient was indentified in Sylhet, Habiganj and Sunamganj districts.

As of today, the overall dengue situation showed much improvement, officials said on Saturday afternoon. The number of daily admission came down to the lowest in recent days whereas it was much higher, even in the last week.

Director of Health, Sylhet, Debpada Roy told this correspondent the number of dengue patients has been on the decline over the few days.
