RANGPUR, May 04: The preliminary third round of International Leadership Programme on Education - 2019 was held on the Police Lines School and College campus in the district on Friday afternoon.
Global Educators Initiative for Sustainable Transformation (GEIST) innovation and Leadership Centre (GILC) organised the event.
Principal of the Police Lines School and College, Rangpur, Prof Dr KM Jalal Uddin Akbar inaugurated the event as the chief guest while GEIST Rangpur Regional Director, Khurshiduzzaman Ahamed was in the chair.
GEIST Deputy Regional Director, Rangpur, Zakir Hossain moderated the session.
Around two hundred students and teachers from different educational institutions in the city participated in the event.
International Leadership Programme on Education is an international competition on English language and leadership designed and implemented by GEIST International Foundation.
The aim of the programme is to focus on promoting leadership and enhancing English language skills among the students. The event will be held in eight divisions of the country phase by phase.
A total of ten participants from each division will be selected to join a two-day intensive session on English language and leadership in the capital.
Of them, top eight students will be finally selected to represent Bangladesh in the International Olympiad on English Language and Leadership in Hanoi, Vietnam on August 09 to 10 of this year.
They will have the opportunity to join International STEAM [Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics] Conference in Hanoi. Participants will have to undergo a test on education, panel discussion and presentation based on English and global aspects.
