Four die in road crashes in two dists

MYMENSINGH, Dec 21 (BSS): Two people were killed and two others injured in a road accident on Mymensingh-Netrakona road in Moza Hadi area under Tarakanda upazila of the district on Wednesday night.
The deceased were identified as Shahabuddin, 35, son of Siraj Ali, resident of Modarpur village in the upazila and CNG run auto rickshaw driver Al-Amin, 25, son of Kala Mia, resident of Moza Hadi village in the upazila.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Tarakanda Police Station Mazharul Haque said, the accident occurred in the area around 11pm when the Mymensingh-bound sand-laden truck collided head-on with a CNG run auto rickshaw coming from the opposite direction, leaving two persons dead on the spot and two others injured.
The injured were admitted to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH), the OC said.
Meanwhile, UNB adds: In Jessore, two college students were killed in a road accident at Charavita on Jessore-Narail road in Bagherpara upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Labib Hossain alias Rajib, 20, son of Touhidur Rahman of Mashimdia village in Narail Sadar upazila, and his friend Pallab, 21. Both of them were Class-XI students of Narail Victoria College.
Md Manjurul Alam, OC of Bagherpara Police Station, said the accident took place around 3:15pm when a Narail-bound microbus crashed into the motorcycle of Labib and Pallab while they were going to Jessore by the bike, leaving them critically injured.
Locals rescued them and took them to the Jessore Medical College Hospital where doctors declared them dead, the OC added.
