Jhenidah LGED implements Tk 87m BAIDP project

JHENIDAH, Nov 18: The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) is implementing the Bangladesh Agricultural Infrastructural Programme (BAIDP) project in Jhenidah.

The United States Agency for International Deve-lopment (USAID) is the fund provider.

In Jhenidah, improvement of Fulbari level crossing, Hasanhati via Kastobhanga Bazar road, is being implemented through two packages, amounting to a total of Tk 87.10 million.

The total length of the road is 10.63 km.

Some 40 per cent work of the first package costing Tk 42.90 million has been complete.

Preparatory work of the second package costing Tk 44.20 million has already done.

Md Rafiul, consultant, USAID, Jashore region said the improvement of the road under Kaliganj upazila in Jhenidah was going on in full swing.

Besides, the construction of market centre at Kola Bazar and other work are expected to start in short time.

Executive Engineer of LGED, Jhenidah Md Shamsuzzaman said the construction was going on in full swing.

"In addition, construction work of market centre at Kola Bazar and a 500-metre school connecting road work will start soon," the official further said.

They have already finished doing necessary formalities including soil survey, Md Shamsuzzoha added.
