Lightning kills one in Satkhira

SATKHIRA, Aug 24 (UNB): A farmer was killed and another injured in a lightning strike at Jalalabad village under Kalaroa upazila on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Delwar Hossain, 30, of Ekhra village, while the injured was Milon Hossain of Jalalabad village.

Munirul Gias, OC of Kalaroa Police Station, said a thunderbolt struck Delwar and Milon when they were working in a paddy field amid rain, leaving Delwar dead on the spot.

Injured Milon was admitted to Kalaroa Upazila Health Complex, he added.
