Magura BINA to produce short-duration Aman, Boro

MAGURA, Sept 21: Magura Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA) organised a regional workshop on research review at its office on Friday.

The workshop revealed in 2018-19, an initiative was taken to produce short-duration Aman and Boro rice varieties.

Outstanding success has been achieved in producing short-duration BINA Aman paddy 16 and 17 and BINA Boro -14.

Production of short-duration BINA Mustard 9 and 10, BINA Moshur-8 and BINA Kheshari - 1 and BINA Gram - 4 has recently started successfully, speakers said.

Additional secretary of Agriculture Ministry Kamala Ranzan Dash attended the programme as the chief guest and BINA Director Dr Md Zahangir Alam presided over the event.

The chief guest said, "We expect to increase our food grain production by two times within 2030."

A total of 40 agriculturists from five districts took part in the workshop.
