Shahjalal Majumder, convener of Chauddagram upazila unit of Bangladesh Awami Jubo League, distributes a sewing machine to a distressed woman on the occasion of International Mother Language Day at a function on the premises of Meah Bazar L.N. High School ground in Chauddagram, Comilla on Saturday. Ujirpur UP chairman Joinal Abedin Khorshed and Kashinagar UP chaiman Mosharraf Hossain are also seen, among others. COMILLA, Feb 27: Moitree, a socio-cultural organisation, observed the International Mother Language on the premises of Meah Bazar L N High School ground in Chauddagram, Comilla on Saturday through various programmes, said a press release.
Shahjalal Majumder, convener of Chauddagram Upazila unit of Bangladesh Awami Jubo League, and chairman of Sreepur Union Parishad(UP), attended the programme as the chief guest while Kashinagar UP Chaiman Mosharraf Hossain and Ujirpur UP Chairman Joinal Abedin Khorshed, were special guests.
Presided over Moitree president Farook Ahmed Sunny, the function was attended, among others, by Ujirpur Union Awami League president Mia Md Nasir, joint-secretary of Chauddagram Upazila Awami League Abdul Barik, vice-president of Muktijuddah Sangsad, Comilla Dist Command Soilapoti Chowdhury Nandan and president of Meah Bazar Govt Primary School Managing Committee Mia Md Nizam.
The programme included free of costs medical tests, free medical services, distribution of sewing machines among poor women, wheel chairs among disabled people and educational appliances among children.
