Month-long rat killing drive begins in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, Oct 21 (BSS): As part of country wide programme a month long rat killing drive was inaugurated in the district on Sunday.

On this occasion, a discussion was held at the auditorium of Manikganj district council.

With Md Habibur Rahman Chowdhury, Deputy Director, Department of Agriculture Extension in the chair, S M Ferdous, deputy commissioner, Manikganj was present at the function as the chief guest.

Md. Monwar Hossain, Chief Executive Officer, Manikganj district council, Dr. Md. Muniruzzaman, district fisheries officer and Md.Nure Alam Siddique, additional deputy director of the Department of Agriculture Extension, among others, spoke on the occasion.

Sources at the Department of Agriculture Extension said a total of 2,56,538 rats were killed in Manikganj district that saved 1924.04 tonnes of Aman paddy last year.
