JASHORE: The zebras recovered from a cattle market early Wednesday — Focus Bangla

JASHORE, May 09 (BSS): Detectives in a drive rescued 10 zebras from a cattle market in Bagachra Satmail Bazar area under Sharsha upazila early Wednesday.

Being informed, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of police conducted a drive at the cattle market at about 12.00am and rescued the zebras worth about Tk 10 million, said Humayan Kabir, officer-in-Charge of Bagachra Police Camp.

However, police could not find out the owner of the animals. One zebra died after being rescued.

Police suspect the Zebras might have been brought from Dhaka to smuggle out of the country, said Murad Hossain, sub inspector of DB police.

The rescued animals are likely to be handed over to the Forest Department, said Salauddin Shikder, additional superintendent of police.
