Road crashes kill four in Jamalpur, Mymensingh

JAMALPUR, June 13 (BSS): Two passengers of a three wheeler were killed and two others injured in a road accident on Jamalpur-Mymensingh road in the district on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Mosharraf Hossain, 42, son of Mofazzal Hossain at village Munsipara in the town and an unidentified eight-year-old girl.

Fire Service sources said a CNG-run auto rickshaw passenger coming from Mymensingh collided head-on with a truck from opposite direction in Chhankanda area near Jamalpur town, leaving unidentified child killed on the spot and injured three others.

Being informed, fire service and civil defence team rushed to the spot and brought the injured persons to Jamalpur Sadar General Hospital where the attending doctor declared Mosharraf Hossain dead.

In Mymensingh, two people were killed when a truck hit a number of stationed human haulers at bypass intersection in the city on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Saiful Islam, 40, a police constable and Abul Hashem, 25.

Atiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model Police Station, said the accident took place around 7.00 am when a truck hit four stationary human haulers in the area, leaving nine people injured.

The injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where two of them died after admission.
