Speakers urge Ansar-VDP members to work for a crime-free society

GAIBANDHA, Jan 18: A district rally of Ansar and VDP was held at the auditorium of the district Shilpakala Academy of the town with a call to serve the nation with sincerity and root out social crimes anyhow to ensure a peaceful society.

Director of Ansar and VDP, Rangpur range, Quazi Shakhawat Hossain attended the function as the chief guest and additional police super Abdullah Al Faruk and civil surgeon Dr Abdus Shakur were the special guests.

The speakers also urged all the members of Ansar and VDP to do all types of departmental works sincerely aimed at making the government-sponsored development programmes more successful in future to build a middle income country by 2021.

Quazi Shakhawat Hossain said Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, the largest voluntary organisation in the country, has been working for the welfare of the people.

He also urged the members to work to free the society from the curse of social crime, and superstitions, especially militancy, eve teasing, human trafficking, gender disparity, drug addiction and sexual harassment.

A total of 200 leaders of Ansar and VDP coming from 82 unions of the district took part in the rally.
