T-Aman farmers in Shafalidanga area of Gopalganj using a combined harvester for harvesting their produce — FE Photo GOPALGANJ, Nov 03: Farmers of Kasiani upazila of the district have started harvesting T-Aman paddy recently.
According to Kasiani upazila agriculture office sources, a total of 7,700 hectares of land have been brought under T-Aman cultivation with the production target of about 24,000 tonnes.
Some 34,500 growers are involved in the paddy farming this season, sources added.
Hemayet Hossain of Khayerhat village said he cultivated Aman on 1.50 acres of land this season spending Tk 12,000 and achieved some 33 maunds of paddy.
Rashamay Mondal, upazila agriculture officer, said, "We are expecting a bumper Aman production this season. Cultivators worked hard to make the farming programme a success."
