Thrust on rail link from Uttara EPZ to Khairatnagar station

NILPHAMARI, Aug 18: Rail link from the Uttara Export Processing Zone (EPZ) to the nearest railway station Khairatnagar is vital for the development of the EPZ.

Managing director of Uttara EPZ Akhtar Alam Mostari made the remark while talking to this correspondent on Sunday.

He said the EPZ is expanding gradually. Around 40,000 people are working here. The rail connection will help them commute easily.

"It will also help ship goods from the EPZ to Mongla and Chittagong port", he added.

He urged the government to take immediate steps for installing railway tracks in the zone area.
