Two children drown in Hatibandha

RANGPUR, Apr 27 (BSS): Two children drowned in a pond in village Dakshin Parulia of Hatibandha upazila in Lalmonirhat district on Saturday, police said.

The babies were identified as Sharmin Nishi, 05, daughter of Khoka Sheikh, and Taha, 04, daughter of Ershad Hossain of the same village, officer-in-charge (OC) of Hatibandha Thana Md. Omar Farooque told the news agency.

The babies were playing outside their home and at one stage they fell into a nearby pond.

Being informed, relatives rescued them after sometime and rushed them to Hatibandha Upazila Health Complex where the attending doctors declared both of them dead.
