Two girls drown in Jhenaigati

SHERPUR, Apr 25 (BSS): Two minor girls drowned in a river at Batiagaon Shonarpara village under Jhenaigati upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The girls were identified as Tania, 8, daughter of Chan Miah and Sumaiya, 7, daughter of Sirajul Islam, residents of the same village.

Officer-in-Charge of Jhenaigati police station Biplob Kumar said they fell into the river and drowned at noon when they were playing on the bank of the river.

Local people recovered their floating bodies, he added.
