Wheat procurement drive going on in full swing in Naogaon

NAOGAON, May 11: Wheat procurement drive of the Food Department is going on in full swing in Patnitala upazila of the district as per the government's guidelines.

Chairman of the upazila council Abdul Gaffar inaugurated the procurement campaign at the Food Control Office in the upazila recently.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) presided over the function.

Upazila food controller Arman Ali, uapzila agriculture officer Prokash Chandra Sarkar, food inspector of upazila LSD Mashiur Rahman Mia, food inspector of Nazipur LSD Sohel Rana, and vice chairman of Upazila Parishad Khadijatul Kobra were present at the function.

Sources said upazila food department has fixed a target of procuring 220 tonnes of wheat from eleven unions of the upazila during the current season.

The wheat procurement drive will continue in the upazila till mid June. Per kg of wheat is being purchased at the rate of Tk 28, the sources added.
