Chennai lifts IPL title for third time

SHAKIB's team in the 11th Indian Premier League (IPL) failed to clinch the title despite playing consistent cricket throughout the season. Chennai Super Kings claimed the trophy for the third time thanks to a sparkling century by 36 year-old Shane Watson. He offered no chances to Shakib's Hyderabad. He powered his way to an unblemished hundred perhaps only to prove that old wine gets better with time. It was sad to see Shakib losing his first IPL final. This year, the IPL drew huge crowds and we saw no controversy. It was a not a thrilling match and the deserving team won the trophy again. Chennai Super Kings along with Mumbai Indians have won the trophy thrice. T20 cricket has become the most popular mode of entertainment in all countries where cricket is played and followed. Increasing popularity of T20 cricket goes to suggest that the shorter version of the game has come here to stay. We congratulate Chennai Super King for their superb performance throughout this IPL and wish better luck next time for Shakib's Hyderabad.
