Comedian Tele Samad will be missed

Noted comedian and film actor Tele Samad passed away on April 06. His departure makes me nostalgic. He had entertained in his unique style the audience of film and television of the country for four decades. If anyone asks me who my favourite comedian in Bangladeshi movie is, I won't think twice before mentioning his name.

He was unparalleled in Bangladeshi movies in the 80s and 90s. His mere presence was enough to trigger laughter among the movie audience. He was very popular in Amjad Hossain's eid special drama Jobbor Ali.

Tele Samad acted in over 600 films. He was also the protagonist in the movie Dildar Ali. It was a huge hit. In the movie, he had sung a song which became very popular at the time.

I have read that he always regretted the fact that he never won the national award for his performance in movies. I think that the love he has received from the audience over the decades is much more in value than any awards.

The Bangladeshi audience will miss this prolific actor and comedian.
