Construction sites ignore safety

Working in a construction site can often be hazardous as the job itself involves a lot of risks which has made construction jobs different from other professions. While safety should be the primary consideration for construction workers, it is often neglected and at times ignored. There is a construction site close to my office where I saw two painters painting the high rise building without any substantive safety gears. I thanked the almighty because an accident did not happen as long as I was in office. But this is totally unacceptable. The authority should not allow safety rules being flaunted randomly.

Every year, many workers die of accidents on account of non-compliance of safety rules, but no concrete steps appear to have been taken. If we visit any construction site, we shall find similar examples of violation of safety rules. The construction companies are often found reluctant to follow such rules. It is a gross violation of the National Building Code and must be dealt with strongly. Often workers also complain that safety gears are not provided by the employers although they had asked for them several times.
