Consumers are being cheated

January 23, 2018 00:00:00

Consumers are actually being cheated by LPG sellers. There is a fixed price for the sellers and some of them are not found to adhere to it. People use it for running motorised vehicles and cooking food. Unfortunately price of the product is not written on the body of some containers and the consumers are being cheated with variable prices. It is indeed a matter of grave concern that these gases are being sold in various places at different costs. It is already expensive for consumers of low and middle income category like garment factory workers. Now question that can be raised logically is how can the gas be sold in different places at different prices. We need a permanent solution. The government should widely circulate prices for LPG for different areas and make sure that the sellers charge their customers accordingly. Every cylinder should be clearly marked with designated price. In addition, ways to use cylinders and dos and don'ts should be clearly written on each cylinder. I would like to request the concerned authorities to issue instructions to all concerned to ensure sale of LPG at right prices clearly marked on the cylinder bodies.
