Corruption in educational institutions and its effects

May 16, 2018 00:00:00

VERY often we come across reports in newspapers and TV channels about corruption in educational institutions. In one of the recent reports it was alleged that authorities of some well-known institutions took an unusually large amount of money from students as fees for public examinations. Corruption charge was labelled against one of our most reputed private universities North South University.

It is most unfortunate that institutions of learning turned into dens of corruption in this way. What would the students learn from such institutions and what will they do when they are entrusted with the responsibility to lead the country? If the foundation for later life is fragile, good virtues will not prevail. Similarly, if the students are not taught about honesty, the dream for development of the country is also likely to fall apart.
