Dishonouring a school teacher
January 21, 2018 00:00:00
A news item on a shocking and unfortunate incident appeared in some newspapers recently. It was about a school teacher being manhandled by an incumbent lawmaker in Ramu, Cox'sbazar, over a trivial issue.
The teacher had been working in a primary school located in the lawmaker's own constituency. Whatever may be the reasons, a lawmaker is not expected to behave with a primary school teacher in the manner as he did on the occasion. After all, teachers are the stepping stones for students to go up the ladder in later life. We expect something different from a lawmaker, something that encourages others to follow him.
