Eid & new Dhaka

Since last weekend, Dhaka has donned the 'Eid holiday' look. I love this and wait for this time that comes twice in a year.

Like most residents of Dhaka, I enjoy this time as the roads become nearly empty. One can enjoy Dhaka in its real ambience and essence. As there are no delays, one can reach his or her destination on time during this one week or so. This is when most people go to the restaurants, hangout spots and movie theatres with their families and loved ones.

The exodus of people began from August 08 and will continue till August 12, the day of Eid. Some people are delaying their departure till Eid day because of the tailbacks on the highways.

Dhaka will soon go back to its old self by August 18th. Till then we should enjoy this ambience! Eid Mubarak to all!
