Faulty products at DITF

DHAKA International Trade Fair (DITF) began on January 1, 2018. This fair is known as a place to showcase a wide variety of products for local and foreign buyers and to attract foreign investors. Many international buyers and investors collect samples from the fair to assess possibilities of bulk purchase for consumption at home and potential for investments in our country. Local buyers however visit the fair to buy their own favourite products.

But it is a matter of great regret that over the last few years some unscrupulous businessmen have been using this fair as a platform for selling apparently attractive but fake products and/or unsold faulty stocks. This attitude of greedy and unethical businessmen damages the spirit of DITF and gives a wrong message to foreign buyers as well as investors. The authorities concerned particularly the ministry of trade and commerce, should look into the matter and stop such unethical practices in the greater interest of marketing of local commodities and products across the world.
