Female youth entrepreneurship

September 03, 2019 00:00:00

As a rapidly growing economy, Bangladesh is supposed to utilise the potential of women in doing business for accelerating the growth. The women, on their part, face some difficulties in formal and informal jobs. Opportunities for them are often scarce. So they need to join or initiate business ventures to get rid of joblessness and create opportunities for others. However, as we know, access to capital is a major obstacle to the female entrepreneurs. Many women entrepreneurs begin with a little amount but suffer in running their new companies for both want of working capital and lack of experience and expertise. They hardly get training and scope to grow as leaders as they remain burdened with multitasking, unpaid works and absence of atmosphere to lead in family. The women themselves should try to overcome such challenges, as many of them are doing, but society and the state have to take into cognizance their problems and create level-playing field for the women.
