Kidney disease - a health concern

June 21, 2018 00:00:00

The number of kidney patients is rising alarmingly across the globe. One in every seven is suffering from kidney disease in Bangladesh and around 50,000 people die every year. We know "prevention is better than cure", but we don't practise it in our life. Around 10 per cent of the world population is affected by chronic kidney disease, and thousands die every year as they do not have access to affordable treatment.

Creating awareness and encouraging people to live a healthy life is important so that they can stay away from the deadly disease. Those suffering from diabetes are in greater danger of getting affected by kidney disease. We need to drink enough water, avoid red meat and do regular exercise. If we avoid smoking and tobacco products, we have lesser chance of getting affected by such disease. We should regularly check our health as early detection helps us fight better against this fatal disease.
