Messi's Argentina keeps WC dream alive

Football-lovers of the world witnessed a tremendous game when Argentina took on Nigeria late Tuesday. It was a night to cherish for the Argentine supporters. It was a do-or-die situation for the team that earned promotion to the next round by winning this match. Within 15 minutes of beginning, Messi scored the first goal. Nigeria equalised through a penalty. Towards the 86th minute, a goal from Argentina's Marcos Rojo sealed the win for Argentina. Rojo's superb volley helped check an early departure of the two-time world champions from the tournament. Messi came to Russia as one of the world's finest players, but he has failed to fulfil the expectation of fans as his team struggled to deliver during the first two matches against Iceland and Croatia. Argentina will face France in the 'Round of 16' next on June 30.
