Misleading notice

July 07, 2014 00:00:00

A warning notice alongside a road, presumably for drivers of vehicles read "GO SLOW", "Accident Porn Area".

Possibly they wanted to write 'Accident Prone Area'; but ignorantly wrote 'Porn' instead of 'Prone'. Whoever wrote it in bright red on a white background possibly did not know the implication of the word 'Porn' which is the abbreviated form of 'pornography'.

Use of this wrong word could be a hazard. A driver who understands the meaning of 'porn' may instantly laugh at it, and this momentary diversion could lead to an accident. One wonders, why was the notice at all written in English as few of the drivers and hardly any of the pedestrians who use such roads are knowledgeable in English.  Also, why write 'Go Slow'?

Maybe, the man who wrote was ignorant, but what about the authority or person concerned who supervised the writing and made payment?
