On 2018 World Refugee Day

June 21, 2018 00:00:00

The World Refugee Day is observed every year on June 20. On this day this year, people all around the world expressed solidarity with millions of refugees, including one million Rohingya refugees here. It's a shame to see that families are being forced to flee their motherland in their desperate bid to save life in this twenty-first century. The world community must work together to end the sufferings of the refugees.

The Rohingyas have been living in Myanmar for generations, but still they are denied of Myanmar citizenship. They have been described as the world's most persecuted minority. Only observing a day is not enough. We must do what it takes to make the world a safer place for all human beings regardless of their religion, caste and colour. The world must stand with the refugees so that they can lead a decent life. Let's join hands and make our world a safer place to live in!
