Post-Eid challenge to keep Dhaka clean

August 19, 2019 00:00:00

Slaughtering of sacrificial animals during the Eid-ul-Azha, supposed to be accomplished on private places, is often done on public roads, a practice which results in scattering of animal rejects and remains including blood all around. Such practice not only tarnishes the city's image but is also unhygienic. The slaughtering practice has improved significantly in recent years but some people are still less careful about both hygiene and public nuisance.

For cleanliness during Eid as well as round the year, let us remember, we should keep our kitchen and parking lots of apartments clean so that no germs can grow. There is scope for improvement in the atmosphere of our neighbourhood. We, the citizens, can play a proactive role and then inform and urge the city corporation authorities to take proper care.
