Prospect of digital marketing

No matter how fancy the term sounds, digital marketing is now a career that the youngsters want to pursue. It requires certain skills to shine in the industry. Often having a lack of understanding of digital marketing platforms, many young marketers think marketing through the social media networks like Facebook is all about digital marketing. For securing a job and attaining excellence in Bangladesh context, one has to acquire complete knowledge of digital world involving Google, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and of course Facebook and all such platforms. They must be capable of decoding technical terms like SEO (search engine optimisation), which is a practice of raising flow of traffic to a website. They must not be confused with, for example, the difference between reach and impression.

In a growing market like Bangladesh, digital marketers need to be more proactive, an attitude, which helps attain higher level of analytical skills. Apart from being well conversant with digital technology, the digital markers should have capacity to write a good copy and tell a story for earning trust of clients and retaining them. Since digital technology is increasingly being used in business sectors, the Bangladeshi youths have good prospects of not only getting jobs but also contributing to creating foundation for digitally-managed businesses. However, they need to be hungry to learn and explore new avenues with high skills that help good marketers to rule their territory. Our new generation should remember that 'the best way to know your limits is push yourself through the limits'.
