Reckless motorbike driving

The Financial Express published a report on the front page on April 28 titled "Motorbikes swarm roads, grab 65pc share of all vehicles, experts find growth undesirable". The report mentioned that motorbikes have become the most popular mode of transport in the country due to their mobility as well as low price.

No doubt, motorbike is a good vehicle which can be used to move anywhere quickly. But it is alarming that many of the motorbike drivers do not care about road safety and security. They overtake other vehicles frequently from the wrong side in violation of traffic rules. Many riders are found without helmets despite strict measures by the police. There are cases of youths using bikes for terrorist activities. The law enforcement agencies need to be strict. The motorbike drivers must follow the traffic rules.
