Security at the airport

It was reported that despite carrying a firearm and seven rounds of bullets Mohammad Mamun Ali could skip the first round of security check at the domestic airport of Shahjalal International Airport on March Friday (March 8). On Tuesday, firearm of film star Ilias Kanchan was not detected by the airport security. Before that, Md Polash attempted to hijack a Dubai-bound plane Flight BG-147 of Biman Bangladesh Airlines while it was going to Chattogram from Dhaka. Polash was allegedly carrying a 'toy gun' .

The security of an airport is of utmost importance. It always gets international media attention when there happens anything wrong. The relevant agencies need to make an all-out effort to look into security matters of the airport and take actions immediately. Otherwise, there is a chance that some international airlines may stop using our airport leading to economic loss for the country. Also we may suffer from huge image crisis.
