Speedy justice for Nusrat

Demonstrations demanding justice for Nusrat Jahan Rafi, a madrasa student of Feni, is continuing in different parts of the country. The gruesome murder has made a deep wound on society and everyone is aghast with the nature of the crime.

If we cannot protect the weak and ensure justice for everyone, whatever development we have achieved will be of little value. Many girls in our country cannot pursue education because of insecurity. Many talented girls give up studies as they face various kinds of harassment.

Life is too difficult for girls like Nusrat in our country. The Prime Minister has assured that the culprits will not be spared. The police have arrested a few people and are searching for the rest. Main accused Siraj, a madrasa principal, is already in police custody. Let us all stand united for justice in the murder case of Nusrat.

We should create a social awareness about safety of girls and ladies. Educational institutions can be the best place to start with, they can arrange discussion sessions with the youngsters so that they know how to protect themselves. Also, the youths will be motivated to lead decent lives and will never abuse others.
