Swimming success of Nikli youth

Karar Mizanur Rahman and Karar Samedul Islam, two reputed swimmers from Nikli, Kishoreganj, have been the source of inspiration for the youth of the area. Karar Mizan secured gold medal in South Asian Federation (SAF) Games in 1993 and 1995 while Karar Samedul won four gold medals in 2001 SAF games. There are more than 44 swimmers who also encourage the Nikli youth to learn how to swim skilfully. Media reports say swimming skills helped some youths from the area to get employment at the armed forces.
