Tigers need to bounce back

Bangladesh cricket team will be taking on the Zimbabweans today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium at Mirpur, in the second of a two-match test series.

I hope that the Tigers have done their homework well before coming to the ground today. Zimbabweans are already full of confidence following their win in the first test match against the home side last week - a 151-run win in just three-and-a-half days. Credit needs to be given to the Zimbabwe team who bounced back following the One Day International (ODI) whitewash by the Tigers.

It needs to be noted that Bangladesh usually underperform in test matches. In the test format, the batting side of Bangladesh requires patience, discipline and better shot selection. During the last test match, the Bangladeshi batsmen fell one after another very quickly. Big partnerships are crucial in test matches as they can build towards a challenging total. I hope the Tigers will put the baggage of disappointing performances in past test matches behind themselves today.
