Tigers remove Afghan hurdle

June 26, 2019 00:00:00

Bangladesh played a fine game against Afghanistan and cleared the hurdle. Now they have to beat India to keep alive their world cup dream. Shakib's all-round performance and batting of Musfiq and Mosaddek helped Bangladesh to win this match. Afganistan is known to play fearless cricket. Also they had nothing to lose, so they were a very dangerous opponent for the Tigers.

Shakib created many records for Bangladesh. He is the first Bangladeshi batsman to score 1,000 runs in World Cup. He became the third man after Kapil Dev and Yuvraj Singh by scoring 50 runs and taking five wickets.

Now we have seven points with two games in hand. Those two games are against favourite India and unpredictable Pakistan, but I believe Bangladesh has a good chance to upset their big neighbours. Skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza managed his team with great skill but so far he has been remain wicket-less. We need his contribution with bowl and bat so that he can encourage his team with his performance also.

Well done Bangladesh, and cheers for Shakib!
