Towards a cashless society

Cash money is gradually being replaced by digital money with mobile banking and debit/ credit card. It is secure and very convenient. We even do not need to stand on ATM line and withdraw money. We can use digital money anytime. We can pay bill from our home and we do not need to step outside. The first advantage of a cashless economy is that an individual does not need to carry cash with him or her everywhere which in turn prevents the chances of theft, reduces inconvenience due to carrying cash, gives freedom from the problem of making changes when a transaction is of a small amount.

More and more people are using cards these days as they can get various discounts and gifts when they purchase through cards. We can even use the card for online purchase.

At the end of the month, we get a statement from banks and we know where we spent and how much. I prefer using a debit card. Credit card lures consumers to overspend as the bank offers credit.

I hope the government will encourage all to use digital money. In that way, we can become a cashless society.
