Uncertainty for admission seekers

September 04, 2019 00:00:00

Admission tests for the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and medical colleges have been scheduled to be held on two consecutive days this year, reports a Bangla daily. The admission seekers will have to sit for enrolment examinations for BUET on October 05 (Saturday), only the day after medical colleges hold the admission test (on October 04/Friday).

Many students will sit for both the tests. According to the report, admission test for government and non-government medical colleges will be held at 19 centres across the country. It involves hectic journey and uncertainty for those who will be appearing in the admission test for medical college outside Dhaka and then start for Dhaka to sit for BUET admission test the next morning. Some guardians said this kind of test schedules indicates a lack of coordination between the authorities who arrange the tests. We urge them to sit together and resolve the issue. Such arrangement will not only affect individual students, it will also deprive the institutes of the most talented ones they have pulled over the years.
