Water boat in Hatirjheel

It is indeed good to see water boat service in the city, as it is helping the commuters to dodge the perennial traffic jam of Dhaka city. We see a long queue for water boat service in Hatijheel. I often use the service while going from Rampura to Moghbazar.

If we can recover lost water bodies of Dhaka, we can extend the water boat service to many other parts of the city. Now the boat service is available in Hatirjheel, Kawran Bazaar and Badda area. The water transport has added an attraction to our city and often people use it as a form of entertainment. The transport through water taxi will make commuting enjoyable and fast.

The only problem with water boat is a foul smell in water and I hope the authority will take care of it. Dhaka is a mega city if we consider its burgeoning population, so we should diversify its transportation system and reduce pressure on roads.
