Will it be effective?

THIS refers to a recent decision by the government that the set of question papers for the next HSC examination will be decided by a lottery twenty five minutes before the scheduled start of the exam. Now the question that genuinely comes to our mind is whether this step is going to be effective at all. To me the answer is NO, since in all likelihood neither changing the set of questions nor setting the questions minutes before the exam, is going to change the scenario.

The syndicates of criminal gangs behind leaks of question papers will continue to do the same by any means if they are not arrested. If they are brought under control, no further action is required to check question-paper leaks. The government tried its best to identify the criminals. But they are yet to be unearthed.

Parents and guardians of students are also equally responsible for the crime as they think their children would benefit if the questions are leaked before the exam to help them achieve GPA 5.0. Parents and guardians care for GPA5.0 only and by doing so, they are doing a disservice to the nation. We must change our mindset if we want a sustainable solution to the problem. After all, an uncaring frame of mind only helps the criminals commit further crimes.
