FE Report | September 23, 2018 00:00:00

The Sampadak Parishad or Editors' Council in a meeting on Saturday expressed their deep regret over passage of the Digital Security Act 2018.

They said in a statement that the Act went against the freedom guaranteed by the Constitution, media freedom and freedom of speech.

Mr. Reazuddin Ahmed, founding editor of the News Today, chaired the meeting, which was held at the city's Daily Star Centre, said a press release issued by the council.

To protest against the Act, the council would form a human chain on September 29, 2018 at 11 am in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city.

The Parishad has invited all journalists and media bodies and individual media personnel to join the human chain.
