A fire that broke out at the city's Anarkali Market at Mouchak area on Saturday afternoon has been brought under control.
Some valuables of a shop of cotton were gutted in the fire, but no casualty was reported, Kazi Mainul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ramna Police Station, said.
The fire originated on the third floor of the five-storey building around 5:30pm, according to the Fire Service control room.
Seven firefighting units brought the fire under control.
