Miscreants kill Natore Jubo League leader

NATORE, Mar 19: A leader of a ward-unit Jubo League, a front organisation of the ruling Awami League, was hacked to death by assailants miscreants at Knanikhali in the district town on Sunday night. Imran Mandol, Sports Secretary of the Ward-4 unit of Jubo League in the municipality, also a businessman, came under attack near his business organisation around 7pm, said Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge Moshiur Rahman. Locals rushed the injured Imran to the District Sadar Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The motives behind the murder were unclear. Police, however, will investigate the matter and drive to arrest the killers, the OC said.—UNB

Coast Guard seizes Tk 60m Yaba pills

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard in a drive recovered 0.12 million Yaba tablets worth Tk 60 million from Noyapara area in Shah Porir Dwip of Teknaf upazila in Cox's Bazar district on Monday. Tipped off, a team of coast-guards (east zone) conducted a drive in the area and chased two suspected drug peddlers. — UNB
