Detectives detain Barrister Mainul
A team of the Detective Branch (DB) of police on Monday night detained former adviser to caretaker government Mainul Hosein in a defamation case filed in Rangpur. Barrister Mainul Hosein was detained from the city's Uttara area around 10pm on Monday, Joint Commissioner Md Mahbub Alam (DB) said. Several cases were filed across the country against Mainul Hosein for hurling abusive words at journalist Masuda Bhatti in a television talk-show. — UNB
HC orders to fix diagnosis fees
The High Court (HC) ordered on Monday a five-member committee to fix fees of medical tests in all public, private hospitals, laboratories and diagnostic centres within next two months. A High Court bench comprising Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Md Khairul Alam passed the order. — BSS
Children tribunal for each district
'The Children (Amendment) Act, 2018' was passed in Parliament on Monday with provisions to set up one or more children tribunals in each district. Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon moved the Bill. — UNB
